Hello everyone, a while back I replaced the rear quarter panel glass on my '98 EB. After I bought the car but before the glass was installed, my mom covered the hole with a homemade cover to keep the rain out while I was away. Unfortunately, she used a very strong duct tape to hold it onto the car as she could not find my painters tape, and when the tape was removed, a rather large (~4" wide, 1" tall) section of paint was taken off above the window, along with some other smaller sections. Some areas have primer remaining, but others have bare metal exposed (which I temporarily covered up to prevent rust).

I would really appreciate some advise here- I have never had to deal with body issues before, and do not know exactly how to go about making this repair. I do not know if a simple primer + touch up paint kit would (properly) fix the issue, or if any other steps are needed.

Thanks

If you want it to look good, you have to have the whole qtr panel repainted (not cheap). If you just want to cover it, you can de-grease the are, sand it smooth, prime, paint and clear coat it with matching touch-up paint from a rattle can, but it will not come out looking very good and will not hold up very well. There are no other options.
