I'm a newbie but have basic common automotive knowledge ....anyway what changed beteen 2000 and 2001 because i've noticed that some performance products (like throttle body spacers) fit one year but not the other what changed? And was it because of a problem or emmisions or what ....also any power changes cuz these factors are important to me. thanks guys and girls. :salute:

Single piece intake manifold

I believe in either 2001 or 2002 the SOHC intake manifold changed from a two piece (upper and lower) to a single piece.

Throttle body spacers are a waste of money on fuel injected engines unless you use one as an adapter to go from an oversized (larger bore outlet) throttle body to the stock intake manifold.

The front timing chain guides and tensioners were redesigned in 2002 to reduce premature timing chain failure. You should look for a vehicle that has the timing chains/guides/tensioners replaced recently to avoid a potential costly future repair.

Welcome to this forum! As with an entire vehicle, it's better not to buy it in its first year. Sometimes there are things that have to be worked out. We already know that there are recalls & TSBs even a few years after things go into production.
