91 EB 2x4
ive got a 91 2x4 EB, its got discs in the front and drums in the rear. i replaced my pads about 10k ago after my rotors already had grooves on them. i am thinking about getting some "performance" rotors like slotted or crossdrilled rotors. does anyone know about how much they cost and if they are worth it, id also eventually get the rear converted to discs but thats a little way down the road. also, when i replace the pads am i suppossed to get the rotors turned also? is that what might have caused my pads to wear down in about 10k miles? my dad just says im an idiot and cant drive so thats why my brakes are worn down but i was able to get alot more than 10k out of my last set, they probaly lasted over 50k, so whats the deal?

I used the ART rotors.. They are cryogenically(sp?) treated and slotted. They cost $300 a set and come with a set of "performance friction" pads.

I noticed that the pads lasted longer using these rotors (I've always used performance friction brand pads) and the rotors don't warp like my stock ones kept doing..

Here an install article/review I did...

They were definately worth the money for us..

cool! thanx for the reply. i saw on your write up that you put them on with 4wd. since im rear wheel drive the install should be even easier right? and also how do i know if my rotors are warped anyways, is because the car will shake alot when you using the brakes? cause thats what mine does

Rotors

As a precautionary thing we(the shop I work at) always turn rotors 9 times out of 10 there is a little warpage, and it also helps lessen the chance of squeeks, tell your dad that you are not an idiot, and that a warped or grooved rotor will wear down pads much much quicker than a straight one, and yes the shaking you have is a sure fire sign of a warped rotor I would have them both turned, before you need another set of pads, and a new brain(you might shake it loose)!
