better manifold fm air filter to throttle body?

I've done a lot of things to increase the intake and discharge on my '92. The bottleneck now is the elliptical shaped plastic tube that takes air from the KKN conical filter to the larger throttle body. Anyone replace this with something larger?

i know on ranger's alot of guys take the new air line from the 96 up rangers or you can take the pipe off a newer explorer. I looked into this the only prob would be that you would have to move your battery. The pipe is round and narrows as it gets closer to the throttle. I guess in a sense to make the air spiral.
