A question for some 03+ owners and others? How do you like the BFG Rugged Trail TAs? I read a lot of negative feedback from the old (Toyota) tread design. The Ford and Chevy tread pattern looks much better. Unforuneately, most of the feedback on tirerack is from Toyota owners (one Trailblazer owner loved them). Thanks in advance.

They came stock on my truck. They ride well, very quiet. The only problem is they have no offroad traction and the are awful in heavy rain. I hydroplane so bad with them it is scary to drive in heavy rain. Also, the sidewall is also somewhat wimpy.

Thanks for the feedback. Others complain about wet traction also. I've ridden in a Trailblazer, and they do ride nice.

If you're buying new tires and want BFG, go with the AT KOs over the RT TAs.

Although I find the AT KO's to hydroplane too... but that may partially be because of the 11.5" width (wide and flat seems to make a nice ski on long puddles). Otherwise the AT's are excellent IMO.

The size I'm needing is 245/65/17. There's not very many AT tires in that size yet. They recently came out with the Scorpion ATs and Yoko AT II. I'd love the Scorpions again ( I had 30s prior), but my budget won't allow at this time. I'm not set on any brand, it's just that the Rugged Trails are inexpensive. I guess one gets what they pay for?
