I had the wheels off my Crown Vic yesterday and what I saw amazed me! That sucker has 13" front rotors and 12" rear rotors!!! No wonder the brakes work so well. :) I'm not sure if the fronts could be used on an Explorer or Ranger but the rears most likely could be since the car also has an 8.8" rear.

Rear: I know that Mustangs can swap in a Explorer kit for converting rear drums to discs. So, can I assume that Cobra (or crown vic) discs would fit? I would think the caliper bracket and ABS would be the biggest hang-ups.

Front: The critical dimension would be the hub diameter. Perhaps someone can check to see if the bearings between the 2 are the same?

I'm not really sure. I haven't had a chance to really look into it yet. It is very intriguing though. Once I do find out I will post it here. It may not be for a while though.
