Big brakes!

I had the wheels off my Crown Vic yesterday and what I saw amazed me! That sucker has 13" front rotors and 12" rear rotors!!! No wonder the brakes work so well. I'm not sure if the fronts could be used on an Explorer or Ranger but the rears most likely could be since the car also has an 8.8" rear.

Rear: I know that Mustangs can swap in a Explorer kit for converting rear drums to discs. So, can I assume that Cobra (or crown vic) discs would fit? I would think the caliper bracket and ABS would be the biggest hang-ups.

Front: The critical dimension would be the hub diameter. Perhaps someone can check to see if the bearings between the 2 are the same?

I'm not really sure. I haven't had a chance to really look into it yet. It is very intriguing though. Once I do find out I will post it here. It may not be for a while though.
