Big mud hole

Well where should I start?
ok well I was going down some trails around my hometown in michigan
anyways i was just cruzing down this one trail and i was hitting up some little so calld mud holes and it was not a problm, thats when i came up tp this big looking mud puddel, it did not look that big to me, well thast what i thought when i tryed to go through it. when i got about haf way into it my explorer started to flote and water started coming up through the doors, at that point it stoped running and i had to drag it home :(
come to find out water got into the motor and what not so hear i am telling you what happend and trying to fine the money to fix it

That sucks man, have you pulled the spark plugs and cranked the engine yet to get the water out?
 






Ouch.. Sorry to hear you hydrolocked your engine. :roll: Do you have a stock air box setup? If so it has a lower intake hose right behind the bumper that can fast track water right into the air box.. IMO it should be completely removed if you go off-road to help prevent such problem.

Agreed, I learned the hard way. My lower intake hose now sits on my front porch.

Well its up and running again thank god
there was about a 1/2 gal of water in the oil pan well it seemed like it any ways but its running good, now all i got to do it get the inside it to dry but its coming along, and yeah i am going to be getting a new after market air intake when i opened the air box the air filter was drenched. does any one have any ideas what i should get? i was thing about K&N but who knows yet
 






Don't forget you're going to want to change your axle fluid, and possibly the tcase and tranny too.

may i suggest a snorkel.... prevents dum stuff like that from happeneing
 












I was looking at an Amsoil filter. It doesn't need to be oiled. But, I'm having trouble finding one around here. Might have to git on the 'ol net to find one that will work for me.
