Just some pictures of a recent beach trip with Big White. Wanted to see how the AWD would perform after adding the 18" Speedline 1908 Saleen Magnesium Rims and the 2" Lowering.

Will be posting a video later as well.

Nice shots! This truck is just begging for a supercharger or turbo. Looks like it's ready to pounce standing still. I always wanted to build a street beast AWD V8. Maybe one day I'll get the time/money.

Where did you get those rims?

What would be a good cheaper replacement?

tire size?

sorry for all the questions. Looks awesome.

Thank You!

The rims are the ones that Saleen put on the XP8 Explorers in 1998. They are Speedline 1908 Magnesium Rims with a 10mm offset. I've been told this set was originally installed on Saleen XP8 Explorer 1998-0022.

Picked them up from Saleendream - who from time to time offers extremely rare rim sets. Be prepared to pay and keep in mind the magnesium rims require the rubber rear gaskets, special lug nuts and center caps - all of which you will also pay dearly for - if you can find them that is. This set was professionally powder coated which made them even more a great and desirable find.

The Saleen Mustang's that had the same rims with the 8.5" rim option in the rear (instead of the 10") used the same 10mm offset as the ones that came on the XP8 Explorer.

They make replica's but not sure if you can get the 10mm offset or not. I personally wouldn't use a rim requiring a spacer or any other offset than the 10mm

I'm running the same size tire the Saleen XP8 Explorers used - 255/55-18. I'm running the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus tires.

If you can find the rear 8.5 inch rims like the ones in my pics - they should fit on your truck (front and back) with no issues.

I tried putting an 18x10 on my ex just for fun off my 00 mustang. didn't fit. lol. I may try my front 18x9 if I pull them off at some point, but I doubt that will fit either. I sold all my stock mustang wheels so I can't test any of them for ya.

Hmmm, I wonder if 17x9 would fit or if the rim would be too wide.

Thanks for the info about 10 inch not fitting.

I think the Explorer Express guys ran a 17" Rim on their trucks. You should call them and ask what size - what fit...
