Biggest tires on stock 16x7s?

Just got my PA body lift, and Warrior shackles delivered and I'm keen to get to work. I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer with 16x7s. I was planning on running 33s or 285 75 16s. My question is..will they fit the rim? (I guess they will since I've seen some pics on here with guys doing it) but how do they ride? Would I be better off getting myself a set of 15x8s and going that route? I'm sure there's a lot of guys on here with some experience on the topic, so bring it on.

I run 285/75/16's on my stock Sport Trac 16x7 rims, I haven't had any issue on or offroad. I'll be moving up to 17x9's with 35's when I do my SAS and SOA, right now I have a 1.75" TT, SL, 3" BL and 1.5" spacers f/r.

Glad to hear it. I'd love to throw on some nicer wheels in the future, but can live with the stockers for now. That leaves me some extra dough for my exhaust. Thanks for the reply.

285/75/16 little trimming(look at the bumper and the inside running board (rubs under full flex in the back)

Nice truck, same as mine. Just the look that I'm going for, and I have the same wheels on mine right now. You convinced me. Those tires look perfect on your truck. I also have a nice set of the chrome 3 hole wheels too. I can't decide which will look better.
