If you take a look at how the Mountaineer grille is designed, you'll notice that you can't cut out the stock vertical bars and make it look good.

so there is no hope? lol

ok..heres what i was thinkin lol....u know the billet grills that F250s-F350s get? somethin like that....its basically just a billet grille, with thicker tubes, which also means less tubes...ill get a pic so u can see what i mean

like this..

Honestly, those would be even harder to make look right than a regular billet grill.

why is that?

Because the bars are much larger and not curved.

well could u find me a regualr billet grille? i dont see how it would even fit on my truck, cuz the bars on the mountaineers arnt even recessed at all in the grill...

That's what I'm saying! It's hard to make it look right.

frikin shat..:(

Cut out the bars, and paint the stock grille body color. Then install a billet grille behind it. Just an idea.

the grille is body color already

You would still have to get your grille repainted if you cut out the bars, because if you look at the grille, it is very obvious why.

I don't know how it would look if you put a grille in though.

#### it, i think im just gonna try to find a factory chrome grille peice for the front and replace the body colored one.

you really don't want to get into trying to do a billet on the mountaineer.

when i first did my swap a ton of people tried to convince me to do it, and even though i have the tools/skills/resources whatever to get the job done it just wouldn't have been worth it at all. I ended up filling in both logoes on mine and will just be painting it "body color" with my flames etc.
