ok I just bought a new SS Speed grill and am patiently waiting for its arrival. Thus, I am ditching the billet grill. I wanted to know what everyone thought about this idea. SHould I have kept the billet grill? Thanks for your input. Here are some pics:

pesonally I wouldn't have wasted the money because I like the one you have on now a lot. I'm not putting you down because the new one is really nice.

At the very least, it'd be refreshing to see the speedgrill as opposed to the billet grill. Personally I like the speedgrills a lot but I can never seem to find the full sized speed grill for the explorer; all I see are the ones like explorerchic has.

I say get the SS Grille so you could sell me the Billet Grille for cheap. ;)

I'm pretty sure the SS is a two piece grill too, not like the one shown in the picture.

a company called grill craft has a speed grill that is one piece and not two.

not to flame or anything but i think speed grills look cheap, like someone just zip tied some mesh in there. i'd keep the billet.

Funny that you mention that because the billet grill that I have was cheap and I just zip tied it in there. I hate it. I only really like how it looks up close. Oh well, I will get pics as soon as it is installed. If it does come in two pieces I am going to be PISSED!

i would be really shocked if it DIDN'T come in 2 pieces. i'm almost positive that the SS speedgrille is definitely 2 pieces.

well I had seen the one in two pieces but I also have seen some that were one piece. Not SS but Grillcraft. SO I figured SS may have made one by now. The site did not warn me about the picture or anything so if it comes in two pieces I guess I will just send it back and get the grillcraft one. I dont want the two piece because when I bought the billet grill I painted over my factory grill.

I called the people at streetbeat and they said that the grill is a one piece and not the two piece, so we will see.

i used to have street scene grill inserts. the factory front grill on mine is gray. the inserts only look good from a distance on a gray factory grill. if your grill is painted the color of the car, the ss inserts look tacky. also, up close the ss inserts dont look that great. stick with billet

The grill is supposed to be here on Thursday. So I will have an update then. We will see how it turns out.

I've got the stock and like the speed vs billet, but it looks like it would be a bear to clean after a long trip of ripping through the insect kingdom?
I could use some chrome replacement though...

I usually don't get a lot of bugs on my front end because I don't do a lot of highway driving. When I did, they would be pretty tough to get off when I had my brushed aluminum billet. But now I have a polished billet and it's a lot easier to clean.

My billet isnt too bad to clean....I just take a scrub brush to it.
