Well if I'm gonna do it, now is the perfect time since my 18s are off for the winter. You guys think that I could get $700 from them? Rims are in perfect condition, but the tires have about 5-10k left and need replacing soon.

I think you could get a little more than $700, those rim are between 300-400 a rim aren't they?

I would think at least $1000 as thats what 18's with used tires are selling for about in ads where I live.

I just got 800 for a set of 18" mustang rims with 40 series sumotumo Z rated tires.....the tires had a lot of tread left though... and these werent even chrome, so i think u could get a lot more than 700...id think about starting the bids at 850 or 900

Put your wheels on ebay, you'll get the most hits from that, and I'm sure you'll get more money putting them on ebay too.

How much driving do you do? I got my rims and tires before you did and they still look brand new... and I can't say that I've been easy on them either.

Hey hartman what are ya waiting for? get em!! those rims would sooo nice on a clean explorer like yours. man you are making me jealous now. i need to do somehting about my bumper and how it looks. You better post pics the second you got em on too. lol. i want to see.

I'm still comtemplating if I should get them or not, because I have to get them on eBay, get the tires from Tire Rack, then take them to the tire shop to have the tires mounted blah blah blah....a lot of money and hassle.

Also, I need to sell my 18s before I can get the 20s.

my take on it has always been, if i had the money, id probably do it. But from my finicial standpoint (unemployed student), the extra several hundred dollars for 2"s, isn't worth it.....but hey then again if i had that extra couple hundred, id take 20"s over my 18"s. TimeStandsStill went for smaller tires around his 18"s and they look a ton bigger, you might wanan give that shot since your tires are getting towards the end of their lifespan anyway.

I'm a student with a very good job for my age so I can afford them if I sell my 18s which are for sale for $1,000. I don't want to spend $700 for a new set of tires for my 18s, I want a bigger rim. It's more about the hassle of it all, but I know it'll be worth it.

Step #1 is selling my 18s. Not much interest is being shown on this board so I might start a thread over on the Ranger forum.
