BL for Christmas gift

Wife surprised me with body lift for a Christmas present. Should I wait until I get new wheels and tires in the Spring, or install now and run the stock wheels and tires ?

265/70/16 on stock XLT wheels.

Yeah, I'd say wait. 3" of lift with those tires would look a little silly imho

I ran my B.L. With lift shackles, 1.75" TT and 265/70/16's for about 2 months before I bought some 285/75/16's. it didn't look goofy of handle any different. Check out my albums on here.

I'd do the BL now. That way you will know how each effected the ride and look of the truck.

I've got a BL with that size tire. It will drive you nuts, or at least it drives me nuts personally. When I walk up to it from a distance it just makes the wheels look tiny, and it looks unfinished to me. And I have to wait a looong time before I get my 33's

Exactly what I was afraid of... i'll wait and read the directions, over and over again...

Mine with 255/70R16s, body lift and shackles. Drove like that for a week.

if your running 265/70/16 which are larger then stock, then i dont think it would look that bad with a body lift.

check out OffTrac's registry for photos of when he swapped out his stock tires for 265/75/16's with the body lift and shackles.

like you, im waiting for spring so i can finally do my body lift and a few extras.

I think our trucks look silly with a BL and stock tires. I had 265/75/16 on mine with BL, TT and shackles and it still didn't look that great IMHO.
