Black bumper and grill paint?

I have a 92 XLT and want to paint the bumpers and grill black like the sport. What type of prep work, primer and paint should I use to make this job look good. I am on a limited budget so I dont want to take it into a paint shop, but I want it to look good. Thanks for the help. Mike

i did mine like what your wanting to do.....
for my gril and head light surrounds i pulled all the chrome off ( lots or work and cuts ) but for the bumper i jsut sanded it

but it'll be a LOT easier for you to jsut get soem etching primer.......
