Blind Spot Mirrors

Essex, the only problem with a mirror like that is if you have heated mirrors the heat will not pass through that mirror because it justs sticks to the face of the factory mirror. Other than that it does look pretty cool.

I tried the 2" mirrors and don't like them

Alright i still am up for ideas. I went to pepboys and got two 2" round mirrors, and they are horrible. I can't see anything in them, they distort the view of cars behind me so much i took them off. Are the square ones better?

the mirror is designed to actually not see a part of your car and to see all of the street not needing the lil mirror (i dont do it that way and i have the little circle mirror) im just saying play around wiht ur mirror a little and youll figure it out

^^^^^what???^^^^^^

BestX i have no idea what your saying, please rephrase what you said.

What he may be saying is that when your mirror is set properly you will not see the side or any part of your vehicle at all. Your mirror should be set to see out into that blindspot next to you. Try it. It is weird to set your mirrors that way but some people love it.

My mirrors are set so if you come up behind me i see you in the center mirror and as you pass me i see you in the side mirror. I cannot at all, not even a little bit see the sides of my ex. I have my mirrors set really far out, to try and cover the blind spots.

Just Found This on YouTube, how about one of these for a blind spot mirror?

Here is the link for the company that makes the BlindSpotz mirrors i bought, got them at pepboys. I actually got the one that says Chevy/GMC Full-Size Pickups and stuck it on my mirror. The one made for Exs sticks below the mirror and i want my mirror to be able to fold. Thanks Again

I got the Hotspots corner wedge stick-on mirror on mine. Works great.

When i tried the round ones it looked bad so i wanted something completely square. Looks like your ex is same year as mine and i wanted something to match the square mirrors we have. Still i like your choice, pepboys didn't have that one though, otherwise i might have tried it.
Heck, here is what i finaly did: i bought one set of every blind spot mirror pep boys sells and tried them all. When i found the one i liked i kept it and returned all the other ones:D

I got 3.75" round mirrors, they do distort the view but not all that much IMHO. Of course this is a convex mirror, so some distortion is to be expected. There are also 3.00" round mirrors if 3.75" seems too large for you, but I've tried both and like the larger mirror more. 2" mirrors are only for cars that have very small stock side mirrors.

i went to my local auto parts shop and they only have cheapo ones, any ideas as to where else i could go.

I have tried PepBoys, Napa, and AutoZone, they have them, but they have this double sided foam sticky tape on the back, Its really thick, and i am worried it will fall off.

Don't worry about them coming off. I've used round spot mirrors for more than 30 years, never has one fallen off. 1-1/2" on drivers mirror, 2" on passenger mirror, mounted on the extreme far side of both. Works great.

Thanks for the help :)

WOW!!! This thread is still alive, I bought blind spot mirrors that are rectangular shaped they match the mirrors on my 4th gen so perfectly that no one notices them. They actually look factory, I have power washed mud off them, rain/shine heat from this past summer, they are still there, plus they work great.

My biggest problem is that I cannot adlust the driver side mirror out enough to loose sight of the side of the truck. I drive with the seat all the way back and the mirror will hit the housing before it is aimed where I want it.

I am considering taking my small grinder to the inside of the mirror housing where the top outboard corner of the mirror hits. Just want to take a little off and maybe gain a few degrees of adjustment

Anyone else evre try this?

Wow, you boys never drove a 1971 Mustang fastback. Now there was some kind of a blind spot! I could barely see the top of the driver's head behind me in the rearview mirror. Way back then, I put a round 2" convex mirror on the passenger's side mirror for safety. But I never trusted it. The only safe thing to do is a head check.
