so i had to drive home from the Western New York area this week and was just starting up one of the mountain passes when the 4x4 HIGH and 4x4 LOW lights started blinking... 6 times and then stop! This happened for about 300 of the 470 mile ride.
Then today the AIR BAG light was blinking too!

anyone know what is up with that?
i gotta do something befor i have to ride back up next week.
Thanks!

The 4X4 High and Low lights blinking usually indicate a failed/dirty shaft speed sensor in the transfer case, or it's associated wiring.

It happened on my 99 and changing the transfer case oil cleared it up for me.

The sensor is on the outside of the case and I understand pretty easy to get at and change if necessary.

i found a bunch of steel cord poking out the sidewall of the RR tire today. i think it is no longer round!
