Greetings,
Have a 98 EXP sport and recently the blower fan under the center console will not stop running. If I wrestle things around it will eventually shut off. Its been draining and killing battery. I've pulled fuse #6 but no help. Short of ripping the thing apart to find the right wire I'm at a loss.
Suggestions? Couldn't find anything under search.
Thanks,
mc:)

It runs with the key off??

Wow. Never seen that. I guess it's time to get out the wiring diagrams and see how that is possible. See if you have a component failure or short.

most probably a stuck rear blower relay.

I would have to agree with something along that line. I'm surprised it has a constant power source though. For just this reason.

that's becauseeee.... the circuit that it "switches" has a "hot at all times" feed.... :-). Not sure why but that a ford design decision I guess.

Thanks for replies. Problem persists and responds only to physical gyrations and or dead battery. Am ready to disassemble console (with caveman tools) and rip culprit wire from purring device.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough.... forget the "physical gyrations" and check the rear blower relay..... hint, it doesn't have anything to do with fuse #6 which is for .............. the main blower.
