Hi all so don't mean to be a nusance...but i just put my body lift on today (pa 853) and on the way home from a friends house my battery started dying....all the lights started flickering....I'm guessing its the alternator....i just wondered if the body lift has anything to do with this....or the way the radiorator was moved did it mess up the alternator....

I wouldn't be too worried...it's just i have to get down to college in a few days

I managed to limp it to a service station right up the road from me (taken my truck there a few times) and left a note with the key and told them what happened

My ABS light came on....as did the check engine light....and the hole guage cluster kinda lost power and all the guages went to 0 or the lowest measure

Im guessing the ABS has to do with the brake lines..i'll need to check on those

but i just don't see how the battery and alternator could have been affected in any way....

Also the AC doesn't blow rapidly even at the highest setting....any help there?

sorry just kinda worried

hmmm... make sure you check all of your grounds. especially if you relocated any for the lift. and more especially if it was the ground for the ignition system or something like that!

ummm, it could also be a crazy coincidence that your alternator goes out right after your lift. :thumbdwn:

however, go through the low-power motions. check you battery terminals. check for corrosion of wires and connections. pull your alt. and have it tested. and check those grounds!

good luck! and remember, its in a relatively safe place and its not in the middle of nowhere. have fun with it! :D

x2 on the ground stuff, ,
if the block was not grounded properly the alternator would not charge the battery, and than when the battery dies so does the truck,
when the battery dies also all of the functions of the vehicle start not to work properly, that might account for the abs and cel ,

Thanks

The car is at the service station being looked at.....I suck at anything with electricity....so it's better them...I told them about the alternator and the cables being moved around....hopefullying this issue will be resolved soon

and i hope the sensors were just part of the battery dying....I don't have any money to fix much

The ABS is common to come on from jarring the sensors around during the lift. Mine occasionally comes on, then once I crank the car back up, it turns right back off and stays off. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the ABS. Make sure they check the body to frame grounds under the two front doors, should look like two braided wire cables, one on each side.

so I'm a dumbass....after 60$ to get the alternator checked...it turned out to be fuse 15 and 6 the ones your supposed to replace.....ahhhhhh i just wasted my money...for them to check all the wiring....damnit im pissed at myself

anyway all the sensors went away...truck drives fine...the mech (very nice guy btw) showed me the circuit map (i don't know the official name) and the power wasn't getting back to the alternator due to fuse 15 being taken out....my AC was related to fuse 6 which is also the airbag fuse along with 15
