i think you need to modify the steering extension with like a dremel. as for the bolts can you just cut off the extra at the end, or leave them long. let me know what happens as i am planning to do this with my 95. thanks SEAL

from everything i have read about the body lifts, the 2" lift does not need a steering extension. could u have gotten a 3" lift? do a search on lifts, there is some good info on why the 2" is easier to do over the 3". the steering and other things were not needed on the 2" lift from all i have read. hope to hear how it turns out because im looking at a 2" lift myself.

keep working at it

take some advice from someone that has the two inch and is very happy with it. The 3" bolts are fine. They don't stick down that far, and you'll never notice them being longer...not a factor here. I wouldn't cut them, because you don't want to mess up the threads. The extension piece does need to be trimmed down in width. Yes, a dremel is the easiest way, or a bench grinder. Remember that the firewall side of the steering is not the adjustable part. You should be able to push and pull on the end coming form the front of your truck with 2-3" of play. This whole job can get very frustrating, but take your time....it's worth it. You must of not started on the bumpers yet....but because you still seem relatively calm....just wait.

Well I got my lift on I still need to do the bumpers BlueDogBandit I have a 95 and you have a 91 a little bit differt the bolts in 94-91 explore kit are to long when you go to tighten them up you run out of threds you can use 4 out of 10 and reuse 2 old bolts but you need to buy 4 new bolts to make the kit work on a new body style Explorer you will need the 4 bolts under the front seats if your going to do a 2in lift i would remove the left front under the carpet by your feet and go to a nut and bolt store and buy them they are metric m-12 1.75 pitch I think and just git them 2 inches longer and the streering went ok I just needed to git under the car and tap on the steering shaft to line the holes up. the lift look way cool it realy changes the look I am very happy with the way it turned out I will have pic.s soon thanks guys for your help

Hi guys my lift is done and was a fun job it turn out great I have the pic.s if you go to befor and after and check them out I hope you like them.
