bolt on performance upgrades

I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer with the 4.0 liter V6 SOHC and i was wondering what bolt on performance upgrade are available that are california emissions compliant

IMO, every one of them are a waste of money. The 4.0 is a long shot from anything "performance" and nothing just bolted onto it will change that. Just change out the muffler for something that sounds better if you must do something. Otherwise, you can spend a few hundred dollars and gain 1/8 hp if you just want something flashy under the hood.

For street use, the best bolt on upgrade is a rear sway bar, IMO.
A significant handling improvement, and a much safer vehicle.

Just remember though, for that 98+, you will only need the rear bar. The front already uses a 1_3/8 solid bar.

For the SOHC the extent to bolt ons are the various cold air intakes and you can use the 70mm throttle body from the 4.6l V8.

70mm TB, TB Spacer,Cold air intake, Spark plugs/wires, distributor etc. IMO ...I'm undergoing my own project on my 4.0 but I'm still debating an engine swap.. I'm still undecided..

About the only thing that will work is is a well designed set of headers and exhaust system.
