I was just wondering if I could get a few suggestions. I was sold on Borla Cat-Back Systems and had one ordered but I cancelled my order the other day because I ran across the Dynomax. I couldn't belive how they were so much cheaper. What I was wondering is, which will give a better sound quality and more of an increase in HP? Borla tells you flat out that its a 10-15 HP increase but Dynomax says nothing about increased HP. Has anyone had any experiences with Dynomax? Did you get the bang for your buck? Or is Borla the best way to go? Thanks for the help...man, you guys know everything! Dead Link Removed

I have the Dynomax system. I am very happy with it's performance, sound and looks (I don't care for the Borla tip). It was a great price. The reason for the difference in price is because the Borla is stainless steel and the Dynomax is aluminized steel. Stainless is better but with the lifetime warranty of the Dynomax, I am not concerned about how long it lasts. And I could buy three Dynomax cat back systems for the cost of one Borla system here.

Technically Velveeta isn't REALLY cheese... it's a cheese food...
The stuff that other cheeses eat... I guess.

Neither, buy a Flowmaster, i have one, and love it.

Paul,

Hmm...I'm still not sure. Are there draw backs to aluminized steel vs stainless? I really don't wanta buy a dynomax if its not gonna last. I see that you said you could buy 3 Dynomax systems for one Borla system? Does that mean the your Dynomax is destined to be replaced?

No my Dynomax is not destined to be replaced. It has an excellent Lifetime Guarantee and should last for a very long time. I paid $204 installed for my Dynomax system while the Borla is something like $650. I cannot justify paying for the coolness factor of having a stainless exhaust. For that amount of difference in price it was no question for me which exhaust to go with.

I have friends who have the Dynomax system. One is a V6 SOHC and the other one is a V8 OHV. The sound during idle is a reminiscent of a stock Mustang. It does sound a little louder than the stock exhaust.

As for the Borla system I think it's worth the Dollar. I choosed this system because I know it will last for a very long time. I may never have to replace it again and the best part is.....it comes with a lifetime warranty (corrosion, leak). I purchased the system for less than $500.00 at CaliforniaConcepts.com.

As far as the gains in HP and Torque, I think it depends on the mods you have done to your engine. It doesn't matter what type of cat-back system do you have.

Well I must admitt all the help has beeb just that very helpful. I would like to have a Borla exhaust but I can buy the Dynomax Super Turbo Cat-Back system for a great price. And though I would like to have a Borla in the future I belive I will go with the Dynomax cause I am dying for and an exhaust system and the price is right. I may buy a Borla in the future for the price I hate to pass the Dynomax up. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

why do you want an exhaust kit so badly???

One word for ya...PERFORMANCE. It's all about performance baby. This is what peoples eyes will do when I pull up next to them at a stop light and rev my engine-> Dead Link Removed

I have a 96' EB V8 with a Magnaflow dual 2.5"-in and a 3"-out with a dual 3" slanted tip. This, if you have the V8 is the best throaty sounding exhaust you can buy. Have not dyno'd but guess 10-15hp. I like "GlassPack" Mufflers instead of the Borlas for a deeper "throaty" sound. I also recommend to anyone getting an exhaust to get an improved intake (I use K&N). The Magnaflow system was 300 plus exhaust-tip $50. Dont buy a resonated tip unless you want the sound to be muffled.
