I just pulled the stock Motorcraft platinum plugs yesterday with 68K miles on them. Stock gap should have been .052-.056" but most were .065 with 2 being as high as .070 after much wear of the center electrode. I installed the Bosch +4 plats and noticed a definite improvement in idle and a slight increase in mid-range throttle response. I still need take some gas milage readings, but so far the plugs seem to be a good choice..... Also, I'm still looking for a set of Jacobs or Splitfire wires for my 4.0L; anybody have a mail-order source for these?

Thanks,
Arnold

I got my splitfires from Summit Racing equipment,
I think they were around 55$ quick shipment too.
I got they in two days.(www.Summitracing.com)

You can get the Jacobs wires directly from them at 1-800-627-8800. They come with a Full lifetime replacement warranty. I can't remember the price and their on line store is closed for remodeling.

I ordered my jacobs wires from 4wheelparts. I paid about 62 for a set for the explorer. I payed another 30 for some header wrap to protect them. I'm thinking I'm never going to replace them again I may as well protect them the first time.
