Are there any brake caliper rebuild kits available for second gen. Explorers? I looked on Summit Racing and they didn't have any specifically for Explorers.

O'Reillys also has them local, if there is one near you. They may have to order, but you don't pay shipping if they do. I just got some there and they were like $4 a piece for the rear and $6 a piece for the front.

Rebulding them is not much, I did some a few years ago. There is just the piston ring and the boot dust seal. The boot was a little tricky, but nothing major... probably can google for some pictures or videos. Making sure you do not bleed the brake fluid resevoir down (plug the brake lines as soon as you disconnect the calipers and then bleeding the brakes were more than rebuilding them. I had not done this before, no problems, in fact it was done to stop a sticky caliper and worked perfectly afterwards. Had some corrosion products in the caliper reservoir.

Good luck,
