i was just wondering if anyone had a parts diagram of the brakes and rotors and calipers

Do you have a haynes manual? We have a great write-up with pics for 1st gen brakes, but I don't know how much is "improved" on your 05. Best way is get ahold of a haynes for your year, they have fairly decent photos and step by step instructions for replacing brakes. Actually, I think you have front and rear disc, whic is lots easier to change. You can also try a putting 2005 brakes in search here and google search for 2005 explorer brakes. Worst case, if you can't find anthing through search, get a haynes, take digital photos as you go along, then submit it here for a sticky once you've done it!

thanks for the tips. i know how to change the rotors and bads, and drums, but just would like to have for myself as a guide just incase i loose something or need to replace something. but thanks

as a tip, only do one side at a time, that way you can use the other side as reference.
