I need a bit of help. The brake lights on my 93 Ex are not working, the normal tail lights are. I dont have a book on my truck yet so I am not sure where to start looking. At first I checked the switch on the pedal, I made sure the wires were plugged in, I even looked at the mess of wires in the jack compartment in the back, the lights worked again for a while, I thought I must have put a plug back in place or something.

Well now they are not working again.

Your suggestions would be a great help!

Thanks

Rob

Normally, I'd say it's the brake light switch, but since you say it got better by moving wires in the back, then that's where you should probably focus. Use a test light and work your way back to see if you can find out where the problem is.

Did you play with the switch and the Jack area and then look to see if they were working or did you play with the switch.. No Luck then move onto the Jack area?

If you played with both before checking to see if the switch fixed it, you don't know what made the shot time fix. I think I would pull the connector off the switch and jump a wire across the two connectors on the harness to see if the lights work. If it does work, sounds like your switch might be getting flaky.
If not the switch then Hold the Brake pedal down with a chunk of wood wedged to the drivers seat and go back by the Jack and slowly move wires until you get lights.. then try to find the issue.
