have 93 xlt the 3rd brake light comes on when you push brake peddle, the bottom two dont. I cant get the turn signals or the flashers to work either. have checked the fuses and bulbs as well as connections. no luck. please help

Not sure if it helps at all, but I had a 89 buick that did the same thing, ended up being the turn signal switch.

I'm having kinda the same problem with my 92 x. This thread has links to a couple of others that may help you out. If you figure it out let me know I still can't get my driver side brake light to work and I changed the harness, stop light switch, stop light switch harness, and am getting ready to change the socket itself if not the turn signal switch.

I THINK these explorers still have a Flasher Relay in them that would be a common spot for the three things you mentioned to come together.

It would be a Round silver Can on The inside Fuse panel.
