My brake lights have been coming on by themselves last night and today. I got out of my ex last night and was 10 feet away and all of a sudden my brake lights turn on. And today, I had a coworker come in and tell me that my brake lights were on. I went out, depressed my brakes pedal a few times, and they wouldn't go out. I got out of my ex frustrated and then they go off.

I have replaced two brake switches in thepast year with the last being replaced about 6 months ago.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I really can't imagine this having anything to do with it, but I did put a LED in the License plate holder last night, but took it immediately out, because it was amber, not clear. I'm going to check to make sure I got the socket in good, because maybe it is grounding out. But I would think that the License bulb and brake lights would be separate. Thanks Guys! (and girls)

You do know that you dont tighten the brake switch down unitl it cant go any farther. Try backing it off then tighten it up. Also have you replaced the rubber pade that actually goes on the pedal. I know in my 300zx I had the same problem and I replaced the brake switch and had to play with it to be at the right spot, I also replaced the rubber stop because that will get worn down with a dent in the middle. You have to buy these 2 parts seperate, places make more money this way.
