My brakes make a loud noise but only when backing up. I've had them all replaced not long ago and I don't feel any problem at the pedal and during normal operation the brakes feel and seem fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Oh by the way the brakes were done at a Mineke Brake shop. If that has any bearing on this problem.

Parking brake working? Sounds like loose or seized parking brake shoes. Remove both rear rotors and inspect.

This happens to both my wife's 2008 Ford Edge and my 2003 Sport Trac. I noticed it when I changed the brake pads to ceramic pads and replaced the rotors. I used Wagner Thermo quiet pads And Wagner rotors. It is only in reverse while backing out of the garage in the morning.

Exactly! Sounds just the same as mine. I can't help but wonder if it has to do with the pads they installed.
