Any idea how to get rid of brake noise. I have a 97 5.0L and ever since I have owned it. When I am going at idle speed and apply the brake and then let off the brake again attempting to go idle speeds is when the noise occurs.

The brakes have been changed many times since I have owned it and the drums have been ground down. They work well otherwise. But the noise is annoying. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Its like a grabbing noise. The brakes are doing what they are supposed to do - but with an annoying noise. Any thoughts? Thanks

Is it the front or the rear brakes? You mention drums, so I'm assuming it's the rear. Is that correct?

hey marragtop - sorry meant to say discs (no drums on this truck) have been ground down. im not sure if they are coming from front or rear ill check tonight

That's actually quite normal. Different pad types will yield you different sounds at the initial bite or release at crawling speeds. A Ceramic pad might be a bit quieter then a kevlar type. Do you know what pads are currently on your truck? I'm running Wagner Quiet Stops, almost none of that noise is present. I run a Hawk pad on my Nissan and that nosie your talking about is present, but the stopping power is amazing. It's a trade off sometimes.

that makes sense i believe these are either wagner or bendix im not sure but this noise has always occured with my car no matter what pads i use ill try upload a video of the noise this w.e and find out the brand
