I installed some new rotors and ceramic pads on my Mountaineer, front and back. I noticed I was getting a lot of front end brake creaking when letting off the brakes or with only light pressure. I figured they needed to be broke in so I gave it a couple weeks and the noise didn't quit, so I bought some regular semi-metallic pads and they are even worse. I mean the noise from these pads is just aweful. Inside the vehicle it is unbearable to listen to, can even hear it over the radio. Outside the vehicle is very noisy as well and you hear the brakes releasing up to several feet away.
I've changed pads and rotors hundreds of times over the years and never had brakes to creak this loud. It is not condensation. The brakes do this all day long, several hours of driving. Until this is figured out I'll be putting the ceramic pads back on, at least they don't sound like something is going to explode.
The truck brakes fine with both sets of pads, but they shouldn't be this loud.
Any ideas?
