Please understand i did do alot of searching on this forum before i decided to start a new thread. If i overlooked a thread that might have my answers please understand i tried....Okay I have two questions:

I have a 2000 Explorer Sport OHV.

One:
I bought slotted rotors a few months back from a member of this site. I think it was powerslot. Now its time to do my brakes and i want to go with Hawk pads. Which ones should i go for and where do i buy them for a good price? Please take in consideration I do not offroad and i do not beat on my truck. I do have a 4x8 trailer that i use here and there but nothing more than that. From what i read the emergency pads are seperate so if any one has parts numbers that has the same truck that will be very helpful.

Two:
I want to change out the fluids in my rear differential and my front differential. The repair manual states 75/90 and 80/140 if it is trans lock, something like that i didnt bring the book to work so i might be alittle off on the numbers. There is no tag on my rear end so i cant find any numbers that can tell me what i have. Once again this is for my 2000 sport OHV. As for the front differential i was told regular gear oil 75/90.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I plan on buying everything this week and setting aside time on saturday.

thanks

I also have Powerslot rotors on my truck and am using Hawk ceramic pads. These pads produce little dst and stop quite well. Best set up I have ever used.

The pads - http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brak...xplorer&autoYear=1999&autoModClar=&perfCode=P

In my rear end ( 3.73 LS ), I use Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90. Dead Link Removed

Thanks Aldive - I ordered the pads from tirerack should get them soon. As for my rear end i took a picture this morning with my cell to see if anyone can tell me what rear i have and what fluid i need. It says axle 42 and TR D. Dont know what that means but lets see if i can get an answer from someone.

thanks

Code 42 is an Open 4.10 gear.

So what gear fluid grade do i use when i change it? im assuming it isnt the 75/90 am i correct? Its something like 90/140!! And do i need to get the stabilizer that people have stated?

thanks again

I use 75w90.

You do not need a friction modifier with an open differential.

thanks aldive so i dont need a friction modifier got it but i thought 75/90 was for 3.73 gears and 80/140 for 410 gears. Am i wrong?
