brake pedal went soft all of a sudden 94xlt

was fine this morning and the fluid is full now it goes to the floor if i pump it it gets stiffer

look at the wheels for brake fluid on the inside, sounds like a seal went out on ya.

does the pedal lost its stiffness after u pump it if u hold the ped down?

You have a leak somewhere or a bad master cylinder.

i looked at all 4 wheels and didnt see any brake fluid they all were dry also started it up and pumped it and it really never gets stiff even when its not runing i had to pumpit a couple times to get it stiff

my 93 just did the same thing about a month ago and it was the master cylinder.if you can pump it up and hold it if you feel any fade in the pedal and have no leaks then i would look towards the master cylinder. good luck

yup defiantly sounds like the master cylinder.

I don't know if there is a special procedure to bleed the brakes after replacing a master cylinder with ABS.I assume someone will say if there is.

I swapped out the ABS on a fruitless easter egg hunt and just bled it like normal for the most part. I'd take it out on the gravel and lock it up. Make the ABS work. Do that a few times. Then go home and bleed it out.
