Clunk when letting off the brake

If I am driving down the road and someone is stopping in front of me or I am coming up to a red light, I apply my brakes and proceed to slow down. If the person turns or the light turns green I left of the brakes completely and press the gas. Well then I let of the brakes I heard a clunk sound, What the heck is this, it only does it once and awhile. Also my brake light and the rear anti-lock light has been on since I bought the truck a few months ago.

I went to autozone to have the codes ran and all the guy had was the cheap scan tool and said that he doesnt know how to check the abs codes. I have tired ground out the abs connect under the dash the one you hook up to the scan tool. and nothing happened.

I have been asking the same questions here and I have eliminate a few possibilities.

Not the following:
Brakes
Sway Bar End Links
Lower Ball Joint

But then again yours might be a different problem all together. As soon as I found out the problem on mine I will let you know to check if it applies to you.

Today I drove my truck and in order to stop I had to push the brake pedal to the floor. What the hell is wrong with this thing. The pedal has been smushy since I bought it, when changed the brakes all around. And I can easly before today push the pedal to the floor. Amatter of fact the brakes dont work until i have pushed the pedal half way to the floor. And what I mean by all the way to the floor is when, where the rectangle pedal attaches to the metal arm touches the rug. Somethings got to be wrong with that?

That sounds serious, dude. It's something else if your truck won't start or run but if your truck won't stop- that's gotta be fix ASAP. If you can't find help here go to the professionals. Do not wait. It'll be more costly later on.

same thing happened to me and it turned out to be the flexible rubber hose going down on top of the rear diff. It swells inside and you can't tell but it robs you of your brake pressure. I ran some temporary hardlines to detect it. Of course I also replaced my wheel cylinders master cylinder, new pads all around and removed my RABS dump valve all together.

Yep, could be your master cylinder going bad or a leak around a brake line somewhere. Get it fixed quick. It's very serious.

I know that on the '94 you can run the ABS codes with the same tool for the regiular codes. For the 94 there is a red plug that says "ABS TEST" which can hook up to the scanner, and you do it the same way as the other--hook it up, turn on the car, and then switch it to "test." Then the ABS light flashes for the codes (and the scanner). The Haynes manual has a table of the codes... now, if the 92 is the same.. heh..

if it is that hard to stop - and you have to push your pedal that far most likely you need to refill your brake fluid... give it a quick check under the hood.. i had a similar problem with another SUV i had, i could press the pedal to the floor and it wouldnt even stop me from rolling.. i looked under the hood and wallah, the brake fluid was bone dry..

check it!!!
