I have a 97 xlt and just did front ball joints, after everything was all back together i notice the driver front brake is squeaking while driving and under slight pressure on the pedal. Took it apart again and found nothing wrong, any ideas???

There could have been a foreign object between the rotor and dust shield. When you took the caliper off, it may have fallen out unnoticed. Other possibility is a glazed pad. If it still does it, pull the pads and rough them up with coarse sandpaper, or rub them on rough concrete to get rid of the shiny surface.

or change the brake pads. some brake pads are made to squeak when they get worn out.

The pads are brand new and they aren't glazed over. I do notice however when the truck has cooled off or i just start driving it in the morning i hear and feel it in the pedal a grinding sound but its more like a creaking sound when i hit the brakes. Everything with the caliper and pads checks out ok, nothing is stuck in the caliper or pads and i dont see any signs of grinding on the rotor. Could it possibly be a worn cv shaft or wheel bearing? I know what a bad bearing sounds like from my old explorer and i dont think its the bearing going bad.

Brand new pads can squeal. You mayhave to go to a different hardness pad. If you dont want to try scuffing the pads, I guess you will either have to live with the noise, change the pads, or look else where for the source of the noise. Thats all I can offer from 3000 miles away and not hearing the noise.
