 Two fold problem here. A month or so ago my cruise would not disengage without turning off at the wheel. Scared me half to death, by the way. No biggie, stopped using it. Then the brake switch died so I replaced and now my cruise won't work at all. Are they linked somehow to the switch? Did it short? ANy electrical help is appreciated.

Might be unrelated. Make sure the vacuum lines running to the cruise control module are intact.

my brake light switch went out a couple of weeks ago and now after i replaced it my cruise cointrol wont shut of unless i hold down the brake pedal for a couple seconds ...it had'nt done it before the switch was replaced, so i would say that they definetly are linked in some way...

The brakelight switch controls both the brake lights and the automatic cutoff function of your cruise control (disables the cruise control when you apply the brakes). I suggest checking out the connector and wiring between the brakelight switch and the harness it connects into. I hope this helps.
