2022 Limited 4WD
Hi! Last Monday I picked up a 2022 Limited 4WD. It was an almost forgotten stock leftover. It is a "base" limited - w/o options! So: no pano moonroof, no 301A, no towing pkg.
First impressions? This thing feels super solid, super convincing. Drives super nice, very quiet inside. Just need to send it for some detailing (or do that myself.)
I am waiting for my Forscan device to arrive, and I will try to disable some features that I find annoying (easy entry, auto park brake, dim those ambient lights, if possible.)
Looking forward to many years of fine experience w/ the Explorer.

Welcome to the Forum.
You don't need FORScan to disable Easy Entry/Exit. You can do the in the settings. I've turned it OFF in all the vehicles I've had. The Ambient Lighting also has settings that allow you to adjust the brightness. For the Auto Park Brake issue, are you referring to the feature that engages the parking brake when you put the vehicle in Park? If so, I don't think that can't be changed.

Welcome!
FYSA:
- I do not have the Easy Entry/Exit Option
- My ambient lighting only has a few colors
- The third thing: it is what it is

I am waiting for my Forscan device to make the car work for me (I drove an Escape and I was able to modify a thing or two w/ the Forscan.)

From your initial post, it seemed that you were waiting for FORSCan in order to disable some annoying features like easy entry, auto park brake and dim the ambient lighting. Regardess of how many colours there are, there is a way to adjust the brightness. It is explained in the manual and depends upon the size of the screen you have.

Good evening.
An almost random question: does the 2.3's fuel economy get better over time? After 1k miles I am sitting at 20mpg. When I drive on a highway I get 24mpg max. Does filling premium gas help?

The speed you drive at and other driving characteristics all come into play when considering your fuel economy.

Thank you.
By the way: I think I have never said how I drive. It is either "feathering" the gas pedal (without becoming a nuisance), or using cruise control.
In my previous car (Escape 2.0) I was averaging 28 mpg. Now it's only ca. 20 mpg.

I usually get 30 to 40 with the 2.3l base model depending on speed. 65 seems to be the most fuel efficient speed. At 75 on level ground I usually see 34ish with a 6 person family.

I should mention I use premium 91 chevron or shell gas.
