I went out today with plans of doing a TT on the Bravada. After getting under the truck and looking at one of the bolts I said to myself "this is gonna be easy." I then looked at the passenger side adjustment bolt. It appears to be tightened all the way down.

Do I need to spin the torsion bar around one notch(re-index)? I'm sure that will have to be the problem. The drivers side has plenty of adjustment.

I read on alot of websites that the S-series CV boots tear easily with TT. I can buy more flexible boots, but they are like $60. That seems like alot for some boots.

just wondering........why are you trying to lift a bravada? you wont lift it much unless you get a custom lift done......and is it going to be a street queen? i just have no faith of one of those going offroad

Chebies have different Tbar setups than ours. Everyone always says never to lift a cheby with a TT like we do our Explorers.

I'm fairly certain this is your problem. In case you didn't know, some explorers and rangers have this exact problem.

MO_GUY, just to let you know, there are more lifts available for the Bravada than for Explorers. Any lift for an S10 will work on the Bravada. No street queen here. It is AWD, but a different kind of AWD. It is more like 4hi. Exact same AWD setup as a Typhoon. I never used low range in the Explorer anyway. Look at all the lifted AWD Explorers on the board. They get wheeled. The underside of the Bravada without skid plates looks more protected than my Explorer was with plates.

I heard of some Explorers having this problem with TT. That is how I got the re-indexing idea.

Ok...

I wasn't aware the suspension was the same as an S10.

Yeah its a rebadged blazer, like the Navajo is to the Explorer

Yeah it is a rebadged S10 Blazer, but do lifts from the S10 pickup fit a S10 Blazer???????

lol

Do lifts from a Ford Ranger fit a Ford Explorer?

Sorry, had to

But don't they have 5 or 6 different suspension packages?? I remember hearing the people on one of those car magazine tv shows said that when they reviewed the redesigned Blazer/Jimmer/Bravada.

The ZR2's have a wider track width, but other than that, Blazer and S10 front suspension parts should be the same from the same year.

They are identical in the front suspension as the S-10 trucks. 82-02 they are pretty much the same underneath. Friend had a '90 S-10 2wd and his dad had the new style '95 S-10 2wd and they were identical right down to the part numbers.

Heck my dad's old '87 Dodge Dakota has torsion bars and you could raise or lower it that way. Even a friends old '74 Dodge Dart had torsion bars, we lowered the front to match the sagging rear leaf springs.

There are different suspension packages out there but mostly are bushing, or spring ratings or shock damping changes rather than hardware. Do the Explorer trick and re-index the bar.

Hey man I was just making sure. I thought that someone told me things were a little different for lowering a Blazer versus an S10. I know that the lowering kit is diff for some trucks vs the Blazer.

Yeah the main difference is the rear end (like the explorers and the rangers) The Blazers are spring under where i believe the S-10's are spring over ( i know the ZR-2 S-10's are spring over)

So lowering or lifting the rear ends will be a lil differend

This is the look that I am going for. This truck has 2"body/2"suspension on 33x10.5's. I will only have 31x10.5's.

All i can think of is Corn!

(Corn = American version of Rice)

Maybe if he got rid of the yellow and the whacked bumper and i would think it would look decent...oh and the lights

lol yellow = performance

changing the yellow to black would make a world of difference.

If it wasn't yellow, I think it'd look fine... Dunno bout the lights either...

I just put the pic up to show the height+tires, not the rest of the truck(it is ugly). Just imagine that lift on a hunter green Bravada.
