i just bought a 1993 for ranger and when i hit the brakes hard the front ones lock up and i cant move but if i wait like 30 secs they will release. ive looked at it and i am stumped anybody help?....also would like to know what the best chip is for it

You need to get the vehicle up on jacks ( the front atleast) and start to rotate the rotors (wheels off) and then have someone hit the brakes and then release and see if they are sticking and if only one side is doing it - see which side it is. You can tell a lot by pad wear - if the pads are worn unevenly (insider or outsider worn more) then you have an issue. I'm talking about a significant difference, not just a few 32ths different. Anyhow, check your slider pins and your caliper where it mounts to the bracket. If its getting stuck anywhere (pins or bracket) you need to take care of that. Try to push your piston in on your caliper. If it will not retreat, you have a caliper issue or a line issue. When replacing calipers - its good to replace lines as well (the rubber ones).

Hope that helps
