I have a 2005 Explorer XLT and recently on a drive from Chicago to Cleveland, traveling at approx 75 mph, I lost all acceleration for no more then 1 second. This happened 4 times over the course of the drive. I can't tell if it felt like it was transmission related or loss of fuel supply. Anyone have any similar problems?

Holy crap, mine does the exact same thing. It has only done it about 6-8 times over the last month but I have made a dozen trips and it never did it until just recently. I took my to the dealer to no avail (of course not). I am thinking of getting a live update code scanner and hooking it up on my next trip to see if I can catch it missing. Did you have the cruise set? My cruise has been set everytime it has happened...but it may just be I always use the cruise on long trips.

I took mine to the dealer too, they couldn't tell me what it is. I didn't have the cruise set, or i'd have blamed that for being at fault. It hasn't done it in about 2 weeks, but I haven't had it back on the highway for any distance in that time. It has only 20,000 miles, I'm a little irked that I am having problems already. Sometimes I think it even idles rougher then it should when I come to a stop. I read a thread on here where someone was talking about cleaning a sensor that can get a patina build up on it. If it happens again, i think I will give that a shot.

I only have 21,000 miles as well. I am almost possitive from your description we have the same condition. If you figure something out let me know and I will do the same.

I've made the same trip 3x now and never had that problem again. Odd that we both experienced it at the same mileage, maybe it's a computer glitch.
