I want to get some bright lights to mount on the rear door or underraige of my car for when im backing up (cant see **** through tinted windows).

They are handy when backing up, and when some jackass is tailgaiting you :)

anyone done this? i have a 97 SOHC 4 door

There are many threads on this in the lighting forum. I'm going to move this there.

I suggest you use the search feature to look for info on this, many different installations have been outlined on this board.

Good luck!

Reminder:

If you 4 Wheel, do not mount the lights under the bumper, they will be destroyed by your second trip. I've seen so many people run into this. You want it somewhere away from danger, rocks, and such. Good luck.

guess i just made it obvious that this truck has never really been off road  :p

Fish man, what lights are those and howd you wire them up ?

Im going to be getting a tow hitch shortly so that will be able to protect em... else i'll mount em inside the back window.

iside the back window wont be good... you will get glare and reflection right back at you if you have any type of tine, and the outward light output wont be very much... also, lights mounted inside will have a higher tendency to heat up faster, possibly melting something

Hey fellas. Go to this writeup I did some time ago and it should help answer a lot of your questions.
