On my '99 Ranger 4.0, I accidentally broke the hose on the driver's side that runs from the front of the vehicle to the back of the compressor. Half way down the line there is a fitting with a black cap. The whole hose is maybe 2 feet long. Each end only has one single connection, that is it doesn't tee off into 2 lines or anything. The end at the front of the vehicle goes into this block looking thing and is secured by an external torx bolt. I can't seem to find which hose this is. Any ideas?

I think you broke the high pressure side hose. It goes from the compressor to the condenser mounted in front of the radiator. The port with the black cap is the high pressure port.

Dogfriend, #7 on the diagram looks like it's it...thanks very much for the diagram!

I forgot to add the description list. #7 is the high side port.
