I have a stock Ford CD player from 1993 that is broken. When I put a CD in, it makes a loud spinning noise and won't play any music. It'll go through the correct number of tracks, just no audio. The radio works fine. Anyone else had this problem? Where can I get this fixed? Anyone know how much?

Thanks,

Chris

I found a place that will repair Ford factory CD players ... for $150!!!!!!!!!!! Fortunately, the person I bought it from refunded my money, so it's their problem. I've decided to go for the Sony CDX-MP40 which people on this site seem to like.

I'd avoid SONY all together. I've seen too many decks fail in the past 15 years. But yes, you'll enjoy MORE power from an aftermarket deck

I'd say Kenwood/Clarion/Alpine to choose from...

Be sure to use a kit going single din size (plastic trim w/pocket Metra makes em) and use a Ford wiring harness (metra makes em too) - DONT cut off the stock harness!
