LMC truck also has them along with it being all over ebay.
It should cost you about $25 or less for the part. Its pretty easy to install but you do need a heat source (I just used a map gas torch and a putty knife).
They are held in by having nubs go through the door panel and they are melted flat.
I just did mine on the passenger side. I recorded doing it. Give me bit to piece this video together and upload it.
But in short.. A map gas torch (for soldering copper pipes) and an old wood handle screwdriver makes short work taking them out. To melt the new one in I used an old glazing knife (I think that is what it is called) to melt the new nubs.
I have seen pictures of replacement door pulls that came with clips but I've never done one of those or know if they will hold.
EDIT: Here is the video.. It still has almost 3 hours until it is uploaded and then youtube has to process it. I'll see if it is live in the morning.
Glad I could help. It helped me too. . I've been meaning to replace that part since it broke last October but never had the incentive to do it. Its not like I ever have to close that door.
I bought a kit (pair) of door pulls a couple years ago and did the drivers side when it was broken but waited for the passenger side to break before I fixed it. I'm pretty sure I paid $30 or $35 for the pair
I did just do a quick check on LMC, Ebay and a couple other places and it appears Grey(Gray) is the most common color now and I also some some tan door pulls but no more black ones. I wonder if the company that was making the black ones stopped making them?
I'll check with my neighbor and see what color the ones he can get are. I know he can only get the driver's side and he only orders parts on the 20th of the month but its worth a shot.
Worst case.. Get a pair of grays and change both sides.
Awesome! I just ordered a new door pull (driver's side) and watched Maniak's video. Have been closing the door w/o a handle for a couple of weeks. Won't miss that! Many thanks!
Its a pretty easy job, just takes awhile. Make sure if you have any broken door panel clips, replace them. With the panel off, its also a good time to change out the worn outside door handles
