Im new here so please bear with me.. Im trying to fix my bronco II.. it wants to bind and lock up the front axles at will. makes for some SERIOUS noise, and does it WHENEVER it wants.. The shift motor was working and everything else WAS working(switches,4x4 lights, etc) but I thought maybe the shift motor wasnt turning enough to lock it into 2wd.. so I replaced that with a used one that ended up not working anyway, so i put the old one back in. I checked the computer module behined the drivers seat and got 4 flashes of the led (this was before I put the old shift motor back)..the push button for the 4x4 on the dash no longer lights, I checked all the fuses under the dash and on the pass fender by the battery, nothing blown. Ok.. I can live without the 4x4 working, BUT I cant have this transfer case just locking up anytime it wants.. what can do?? I doubt just pulling the front driveshaft will do anything, sounds like its the transfer case causing all the problems.. ANY help would be greatly appriciated.

Ok, any chance someone could direct me to where I might learn about cleaning/disassembly/re-assembly of the front hubs? I have some decent knowledge of cars, a fair amnt of tools, and a little bit of patience.. if theres a step by step or an exploded view that would be great.. or just a little general info could go a long way.. this is my first venture into 4wd, and is a bit different then the 90's watercooled vw's i've been driving for the last 10 yrs or so..
