Bug Deflectors

Hey guys...

The bug deflectors on my wife's Ex and my F150 are dingy with age, but nothing I have tried has worked to make them look like new...what have you guys used to make them like new again?

not much can clean up a well worn bug deflector.

I would just buy a new one...

I used 3M Finish Restore which did a pretty good job, as did Meguiars Plast-X but the Plast-X required more work. But yeah- like Zorro's Dad said- for how much they are, I'd probably just get a new one.

is that the "eyebrow" thing on the hood? plastic-x works well.. but you can get cheap new ones on ebay..

Polishing compound will clean it right up. Looks brand new afterwards.

I always wax mine when I wax the whole vehicle...

If none of the above works to your liking, you could always paint them to match your ride.

Thanks for the info guys...going to give them a try this weekend. I just washed, clay barred, and waxed the Ex last weekend. The clay barring really brought her paint back to life!

PlastX, Porter Cable, 4" lake country orange pad, then follow with some MX7 metal polish. works great!!!

I second that. I always keep it clean when I wash my truck then just spray some turtle wax or rub some of Mequire's Tech Wax pasted on it when I clean my truck and it always looks good. I've had mine a year and I'd say it looks very close to brand new still!
