1999 mercury mountaineer
hey, i have a 99 mercury mountaineer 5.0 AWD. i am in search of a full lift kit for my truck. i found a 2-3 inch torsion key lift for the front, and a 3 inch shackle lift for the rear. i was trying to see if there was any thing bigger out there, also in search of custom bumpers or even just a metal one. If yall want to know how to wire subwoofers in a mercury/explorer just send me a message.

You might want to move this to the 2nd gen forum, they know more about their torsion bar front end than I do.

I think a solid axle swap in front, and spring-over-axle in the back will allow you to go a lot higher.

how much is that and how hard would it be to install it? and my truck a first gen though.

If you have a 99 It is a 2nd Gen truck. 1st Gen is from 91 to 94. Also 1st gen trucks do not have Torsion bars.

on google it says that 97 to 01 is first gen.

This may be, but as for the suspension and the body it would be best answered in the 2nd Gen forum sir. This one has the twin I-beam and a totally different body style then yours. They would be a lot better helping you with questions for you Suspension.

could you send me the link to the forum thx.

I see what you mean, but 1st gen Mountaineer = 2nd Gen Explorer, as far as suspension and drivelines go.

Solid axle swap in front would be the most lift, but the most work installing. The 2nd Gen guys can tell you more. Around here, we're Torsion Bar Free (tm) :) :)
