Bumper options any comments??

I was washing my x a couple of days ago and noticed that there are some pretty mean looking rust spots on the rear bumper. I am curious to know of anyone knows of any aftermarket bumpers avaliable for explorers??

How Bout making one

How bout making one yourself or seeing what a shop would charge ya to get it done. I'm about done w/ my rear bumper. All that is left is the mount for the spare tire and the hitch.

more then likely, you won't find any aftermarket bumpers for the explorers other then the tube type bumpers from smittbilt (www.smittybiltinc.com), if you want something custom done you'll end up paying to have it done.

James Duff is working on a design for a rear bumper for the Explorer. It will have mounts to add a tire carrier and gas can high lift ect. From what I heard it should be ready by winter.

I just put a rear bumper on my truck, custom job from my shop for 1200 canadian. It holds a high lift,spare, and a gas can plus, a hitch is part of the bumper. i can remove everything and just have the bumper for city driving. looks really good ill try to post a picture, never done that so give me a few days to figure it out.

I would like to see the James Duffy bumper when it comes out. Are they goin to make a bumper for the front that is also aftermarket to match??

the James Duff bumper is made for the front already for 91-94 Explorers. I have one.

Kennesaw also makes bumpers for all model year Explorers. I think it was around $400. I comes with an intergrated tow hitch, two "D" rings, swing-out tire carrier, gas can carrier, plus a ton of other options (intergrated air can, Hi-Lift mount, lights, etc.) Do a search to see if that's what you're interested in.

I had planned on buying one but couldn't get the wife to buy my reasoning for wanting one!!!
