today....randomly a burning smell started to come from my truck.....i cant discribe it...maybe a burning clutch? maybe burning rubber...but my steering also started pulling to the right after i parked it in my driveway...any clue why this would all just randomly start?

My dad says the truck was smoking also but i could not tell...

Frozen brake caliper is most definitely the cause. Since you said it was pulling to the right check out your passenger side brake caliper.

If you are lucky you can replace the caliper and be done with it. However this could have also fried the brake pads and/or rotor on that side. Make sure the pads have plenty of meat left on them, and see if you can tell if the rotor has warped bad or shows signs of overheating.

It could also be a collapsed brake flex line.

I was talking to a friend and they said smoke was comming from the front left tire... ill check the brakes today though

also any clue on how much a repair is gonna set me back?

I've seen this happen where the wheel eventually started on fire so best fix it before driving. Calipers run about $35-60 (rebuilt) and usually have a core charge. Pads $30-70/pair, rotors, if needed, $60-120 each.

Figure $400-600 if you take it to a shop.

SHIII- I am dead <_< what would cause the brakes to do that?

Edit: my dad took the truck out this morning and the problem was gone....why the hell did it disappear? I dont trust my dad though so im gonna take it out later and see but still any clue what happened? if it did unstick why it unstuck

thanks corkey...honestly if its still a problem when i take it out later today im gonna do it myself or get a friend who rebuilt his 9/14 to help me.

also can someone answer my two questions in the edit in my other post

it is not totally seized would be my guess, it just had some more time for the fluid to bleed back into the system, ,
funny thing about brakes,, the corrosion could be bad enough to hold the caliper short term, but not enough to hold it for a longer period of time,,
maybe taking the caliper off the wheel, but not the hose, and working it in and out a few times will be a good thing,, kind of free it up a bit,,
makew sure you check the pads and rotors still,

alright ill give it a look at later today and post back on what i find.
