so im looking at a 98 explorer xlt 4.0 sohc auto4wd. it has 180k on it but the body is in top condition along with interior. thier are a few small problems i have found that i need to know the seriousness of them. first off power lock button on driver door inop. unlock works and pass door switch works 100%. tailgate winder button does not pop window open. easy fix? a/c doesn't work. now for the more serious. in park and truck running. if i turn the wheels in either direction, just about a half a wheel turn to end. thier is a shutter. this is without going to the max turn. it is just before it. seems to do it more turning the wheels to the left. note. all balljoints where just replaced. and new tires. secondly i notice under the power steering pump is wet. i was thinking the pump is bad or the seal is bad. next would be the the car idles fine with no ticks, knocks, or pings. after a 20 minute test drive. i check again and sounds like thier is a very light valve ping forming on pass bank/ front of engine. and suggestions? last and this worried me a little but the coolant tank was empty and bone dry. i took of radiator cap and fluid was down about 2 inches. did the sohc have problems with head gaskets? thier is no leaks under vehical and underside is dry. and last the front diff coveris wet on bottom half. so bet responses plz and close estimate of repairs. (parts wise)
